Top 5 Universities for Engineering

According to a 2018/2019 study by Open Access Government, the same study that was referenced in our Top 5 Universities for Business blog.

Engineering was the 6th most popular Undergraduate course. Here at Cambridge Seminars College, Engineering is our 3rd most popular subject with 8.91% of our students studying Engineering or Engineering related subjects. (2nd is Psychology with 9.9% and 1st is Business with a whopping 28.71%)

Once again, we have used The Complete University Guide to compile our list. This time we are looking at the Top 5 Universities in General Engineering.

In reverse order:

5. Durham University
Durham is a northern city just south of Newcastle at the top of England, with a population of around 70,000. The city is famous for it’s Castle and Cathedral. The University itself features its own 25-acre Botanic Garden!

Durham University ranks 6th on the overall UK University League Table.

Required grades: A*AA

4. Imperial College London
As the name suggests, Imperial College London is based in the capital city of London. It is located just a short walk away from the world-famous Hyde Park.

Imperial College used to occupy the 1st spot on the overall UK University League Table. It now sits in the still highly impressive position of fifth.

Required grades: A*AA

3. University of Oxford
The University of Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking word, dating back to 1096. That makes it older than Machu Picchu, the Easter Island heads and the Aztecs. The city of Oxford itself is well know for it’s great shopping selections and beautiful historical buildings.

The University of Oxford ranks in 2nd place on the overall UK University League Table.

2. Bristol
The city of Bristol is located on the far west of England, right by the seaside and just a stones throw away from wales. The city features the beautiful Clifton Suspension Bridge

The University of Bristol currently ranks in 16th position on the overall UK University League Table

Required grades: AAA

1. Cambridge
Just a short walk away from our college, Cambridge University is the best place to study Engineering! The University has had many famous faces study and teach there, such as Stephen Hawking, Sir David Attenborough, Stephen Fry and Sir Isaac Newton.

Not only does Cambridge University occupy the top spot of the General Engineering league table. But it also sits atop of the overall University league table list!
